Common Antioxidants In Cosmetics

With the age increasing, the body protection is decreased. Physiological damage caused by lipid peroxidation, especially reactions that endogenous superoxide free radicals in the body in the unsaturated fatty acids, resulting in unstable lipid peroxidation, and thus the decomposition of aldehydes, especially malondialdehyde aldehyde, which attacks phospholipids and proteins by the reaction to form lipid-protein complex, lipofuscin deposition in the cell, as a sign of cellular aging. Therefore, prevention and anti-oxidant has been a powerful tool for the treatment of skin aging, but also an important way for many other compounds to achieve anti-aging skin effect.
Are commonly used antioxidants include substances such as enzymes or enzymes of vitamin A, vitamin E, cysteine, ascorbic acid, superoxide dismutase, glutathione peroxidase, metallothionein, sulfhydryl papaya enzyme, coenzyme Q10 and so on. And some amino acids such as glycine, serine and salicylaldehyde with iron to form the condensation product 2: l complexes, inhibited by the reaction with hydroxyl radicals of iron-related, and can inhibit lipid peroxidation, also has anti- oxidation. Melatonin, estrogen and other hormones and is also related to reports.
Superoxide dismutase (SOD) is the most in-depth study of cosmetics, the most widely used anti-oxidants, contain copper, zinc, manganese and iron metalloenzyme, widely present in various tissues of organisms, is the only to specific antioxidant enzyme superoxide anion. SOD from cattle, pigs and other extracts of red blood cells, also from spinach, cabbage, prickly pear, yeast and bacterial extracts. Now know that at least Cu. SOD, Mn. SOD, Fe-SOD, Zn-SOD and EC-SOD in five different SOD. SOD activity of the enzyme used as a cosmetic ingredient as affected by many factors, such as short half-life in vivo residence time is short, usually only 6-20min: 32 000 molecular weight around easily through the stratum corneum and the cell membrane and has antigenic and so on. To address these negative factors, the major domestic use molecular engineering approach to heparin, polyethylene glycol, dextran, biotin and other water-soluble macromolecules to their non-active groups or the use of molecular modifications to increase its transdermal absorption of liposomes, etc. embedding the new carrier.
Vitamin E, C is the first cosmetic application of anti-oxidants, a natural antioxidant, and their main function is to reduce the damage of living cells with hydrogen peroxide, superoxide anion and hydroxyl generation. Main role: vitamin E can reduce eye burn of erythema, which may be due to removal of oxygen free radicals induced by UV radiation, the reason: vitamin C is unstable in aqueous solution, it is difficult to be absorbed through the skin. In a proprietary formula, vitamin C preparations added zinc and tyrosine (Cellex-C), topical, the vitamin C levels in the skin 20 times higher than normal, the depth of penetration into the dermis 500 U m, tretinoin from the anti- oxidation, can block ultraviolet UVA and UVB damage to the organization.
In addition, vitamin C is considered a cellular factor that can directly stimulate fibroblasts to produce collagen. Vitamin C is a necessary component of collagen metabolism. L-ascorbic acid-2-phosphate magnesium (VC-PMG) is another vitamin C preparations patented formula, which is more stable compounds have been used in Japan to pigmentation agent. In addition, the element germanium (Ge32) and certain herbal and marine extracts also has antioxidant effects reported.

Andrej Pejic, The Male Face Of Womens Fashion

The world of fashion had definitely based most of its successes on ambiguity and venture, indeed even today in this world is difficult to define the limits of the experimentations.
Once shorten the skirts to the minimum, showed a lot of cleavage and added some centimeters to heels and wedges, in order to get themselves talked about, modern fashion designers have chosen to use, in addiction to risky creations, even counter- counter choices for what concerns the male and female models for their runways.
After the skinny female models used by Patrizia Pepe and celebrated as a negative example by Oliviero Toscani, now its time for the androgynous models: on the fashion red carpets, now the most acclaimed figure is the model Andrej Pejic who have got himself talked about for having put himself in somebody elses shoes; indeed Andrej, despite was born man, is famous for its catwalks and photo sessions made dressed in total feminine look, fact that shows up his physical androgynous features.
Born in 1991 in Tuzla, Bosnia-Herzegovina, from Serb mother and Croatian father, he grows up in Melbourne, where his family seek refuge from the war in the 90es, Andrej started his career as a model when he was 17 and since then he made his own way in the fashion field. Recently his notoriety comes from its lasts work engagements: in January 2011 he walked on Paris runaway both as a man and as a woman for Jean – Paul Gaultier and wearing male clothes for Marc Jacobs.
No tricks, wigs or cosmetic surgery for him: Andrej Pejic, since he was born, he has been living with a body that, despite very thin and tall, has completely mens features and, on the other hand, a face that seems to be drawn by an artists pen, as its absolutely feminine, and delicate in the shape; some make up then, and long and light-blonde hair are sufficient to make this guy looks like a female model.
2011 was the year of his launch in international tabloids; in May 2011 indeed he was on the cover of the New York magazine Dossier Journal, photographed while he is taking off a shirt ( a mans shirt) with many hair roller on the head and in another photo session for Lovecat Magazine he was dressed as the legendary Marilyn Monroe. I chose to abandon my sexual gender in order to interpret my body as an artistic expression said Andrej talking about himself; he was really young, he stopped dressing and behaving like a boy, and started to care about his body as it was a womans body.
Right after this life choice, the model became an instrument- more versatile than ever- for fashion houses; its no accident that in 2011 Pejic tried his hand at the world of cosmetics and perfumes, becoming testimonial of Kokorico, Jean Paul Gaultiers perfume that was created from the tandem collaboration Olivier Cresp- Annick Menardo, who have wisely mixed sweet and feminine fragrances (cacao, fig leaves, fruits of the forest) to create a definitely feminine perfume.
The marketing campaign will be made by Matthew Stone, and is expected to be as ambiguous as the one realized by Andrej for the Dutch department stores Hema, in which the Serbian model promoted a push- up while the slogan asked the provoking question: If it works with a man, why shouldnt it work on a flat-chested woman?

Men and Makeup – Manly or Modest

Men and women have been wearing makeup for centuries and when associating men with makeup, most would think that men who wear it are rather effeminate. This could not be further from the truth. Throughout history men have painted their faces for various reasons, whether it is for hunting, religious purposes or to identify their tribes. As well as painting their bodies, men have been using cosmetics for other reasons too. Many cosmetics originated from Asia, in particular Egypt, and men used balms, ointments and powders back then as they were very particular about grooming and personal hygiene. The intense sun meant that Egyptian men, as well as women, had to wear oils and powders to protect their skin, and painting Kohl around their eyes was believed to help reduce the glare of the sun and improve their eyesight too.

Throughout the ages ‘rugged’ men have worn makeup, although I personally feel that the male aristocrats of the 18th Century England and France to be rather unmanly, with their powdered wigs, white makeup and rouge! As years have gone by, more and more cosmetic products specifically designed for men have become available. The days of a quick wash at the basin and a splash of ‘Brut’ are over as men take more care these days to keep a clean, healthy and nicely scented body. Men like to look their best too and I am quite happy to fight over the mirror with a man who cares about his appearance. Some men do find this personal grooming to be unmanly, but give me a man who addresses and eliminates his black heads and greasy skin any day!

Modern times have seen an increase in men who wear makeup. Many wonder why this is and believe men are losing, what some may describe as their masculine roots. Is it because men carry out less manual labour than in times gone by? Is it because there is no National Service anymore? Or is it simply because it is now accepted that men have as much right to enhance their facial features as women do? By all accounts, David Beckham wears mascara every day and Robbie Williams likes to wear eye make up too. Elvis Presley even used concealer and foundation to create his handsome flawless look.
